Trimlight vs. Gemstone Lights

Two dealer-installed permanent systems that most east-side quotes come from. The product matters less than the dealer who answers the phone.

From the team behind Lucente Detailing, 125+ five-star Google reviews. Insured. Same-day reply, fixed within 48–72 hours.

Trimlight and Gemstone Lights are the two permanent roofline systems most often quoted on Cleveland's east side. Both are aluminum channel with individually addressable LEDs and an app. Both are sold only through dealers, so your experience is the dealer's, not the brand's. Here's what differs and what to ask.

We're finishing our own product selection for spring 2027 and will publish the brand, the manufacturer warranty in years, and our install coverage before the first install.

TrimlightGemstone Lights
Warranty as publishedTrimlight: lifetime product warranty, registered “within 30 days of installation” or it “may… invalidate the assumed warranty.” Labor is set by each dealer (Wonderly: 3 years; Titan: “where applicable”).Gemstone: manufacturer warranty set by Gemstone; labor set by each dealer. Ask for both in years.
Dealers on the east sideTitan Lighting (Berea) holds the Cleveland territory; Wonderly (New Franklin) covers Summit County.Gemstone's own town pages rank for Solon and Mentor; the two Cleveland dealers we found (CleveLED, Horizon) are on the west side.
If the dealer closesOne Wonderly customer's review: “my original dealer was out of business” and Trimlight headquarters routed the repair to another dealer.Same structure: the manufacturer reassigns you to a dealer.
AppTrimlight Edge. One Wonderly reviewer: “The app is the worst app I…”; the dealer noted it “does not control how the app is built.”Gemstone app. Try both in the showroom or on a lit house before you sign.
What decides itChannel color match, bulb spacing (ask to see 6-inch and 9-inch lit), controller placement, and the dealer's written labor term.Same list.

What We Put in Writing

Eight things that are in the agreement, not just on the website.

  1. $1,000 Season Minimum

Every home is quoted individually, and no home is quoted under $1,000 a season. You know the floor before we come out.

  2. Every Season's Price, Written In

The per-season price steps down on a 3- or 5-season term, and the number for every season of your term is on page one of the agreement. Nothing to renegotiate in year two.

  3. A Two-Hour Install Window, Texted the Night Before

You don't need to be home. We need the front of the house and one outdoor outlet.

  4. A Same-Day Reply to a Texted Photo

Text a photo of what you see. You hear back the same day, from Levi, not a form.

  5. Fixed Within 48–72 Hours

Anything that's our fault is fixed at no charge for as long as the lights are up, within 48–72 hours, weather permitting.

  6. Thirty Days' Notice Ends It. No Fee.

Before your next install date, one text ends the agreement. We text before any renewal charge.

  7. A Photo of Your House Lit, the Night of Install

So you see it the way your street sees it, even if you're not home.

  8. Labeled, Climate-Controlled Storage

Your set is tagged with your address and stored in our unit, not a garage. Nothing ends up in yours.

Questions

Which one will you install?

We'll publish the brand before spring 2027. Whatever it is, the quote will state the fixture warranty in years and our install coverage in years, and we won't use the word lifetime.

What should I ask any permanent-lighting dealer?

How long have you been installing under this name, in writing. What is the labor warranty in years. Who answers the phone in year three. Can I see a house lit at night at both bulb spacings.

Is a lifetime warranty better than seven years?

Only if the labor term is written and the dealer is still in business. Read the registration requirements and the labor clause before comparing the headline.
